Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual skills and experience with retail sales or POS systems are a plus. The Cashier will be responsible for processing sales accurately, managing cash handling procedures, and upselling products to enhance sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases in a professional manner
  • Operate POS systems accurately for cash, credit, and digital transactions
  • Handle cash handling duties with precision and integrity
  • Provide product demos and information to customers to support sales efforts
  • Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure the checkout area is clean and welcoming
  • Manage customer inquiries via phone or in person with excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding transaction procedures and customer privacy

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management capabilities
  • Friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills for engaging customers effectively
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if required
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide excellent customer service
