About the Role:

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude to work independently in our industrial shop. The primary focus of this position is cleaning and preparing specialized equipment, including breathing air hoses and other niche components. This role is ideal for someone who is practical, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn—no trade certification required.

* Please note: Our shop will be relocating in the coming months. During the initial phase of employment, this position will also involve assisting with the setup of the new shop location, organizing equipment, and working in an environment that may be temporarily disorganized during the transition. Candidates must be comfortable working in a changing environment and helping establish a well-functioning workspace.

Responsibilities:

Specialized Equipment Cleaning (Primary Duty)

  • Clean, flush, and prepare breathing air hoses and other specialty equipment

  • Inspect equipment for wear or contamination

  • Maintain maintenance logs and follow detailed procedures

Basic Maintenance & Shop Support

  • Perform basic repairs and routine maintenance on compressors, tools, and small equipment

  • Assist with simple mechanical, carpentry, welding, or fabrication tasks (no ticket required)

  • Help organize, set up, and stabilize the shop during and after relocation

  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe

Shipping, Receiving & Material Handling

  • Prepare equipment and materials for shipment

  • Load/unload freight and organize incoming supplies

  • Move materials using a forklift (training provided)

Equipment Operation

  • Operate a forklift safely

  • Tow and maneuver a small trailer as needed

  • Valid Class 5 drivers license required (Class 3 or heavy trailer endorsement as asset but not required)

Work Independence & Safety

  • Work independently for extended periods

  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment

  • Take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Comfortable using tools and performing basic repairs

  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures

  • Experience in mechanical, carpentry, welding, or fabrication is an asset (not required)

  • Forklift experience preferred (training available)

  • Able to tow a small trailer

  • Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working alone at times

  • Able to work through temporary shop disorganization during relocation

What We Offer:

  • $28–$34/hour depending on experience
