The shunter's main responsibility is moving trailers and trucks with waste and supplies out of the Stericycle/Shred it yard between terminals/warehouses/processing plants, organizing and processing material for shipment, storage, or destruction. The responsibilities include moving equipment and conducting daily inspections, and/are responsible for timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.

A Shunter is also expected to organize vehicles within a Stericycle yard to ensure they are ready for unloading, loading, and transport. The Stericycle yard is described as an enclosed property boundary that surrounds our buildings.

The shunter will perform standard Plant Associate job duties as required. Assist with loading/unloading supplies. Organize warehouse  

• Maintains radio or telephone contact with the Transportation team to receive delivery or pick-up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick-up. Reports any maintenance problems to the Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up
• Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage
• Driving-transporting supplies and materials, safely and in accordance with company policy and all local and federal laws. between terminals/Stericycle facilities
• Around 70% driving is inside the yard.
• Perform all Plant Associate job duties as assigned. 
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned 

• Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives and performance and conduct standards, policies and procedures that apply to the role and location
• Required Years of Experience: 1 year with Class 1  
• Valid Driver's License Class 1
