We are growing our team to enhance the care at Marianhill in response to the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act. As a result, we are recruiting for Part Time Environmental Service Workers.

Marianhill is a faith based, not-for-profit organization that provides long-term care, community support services, palliative and hospice care services. Marianhill is accredited with Exemplary Standing.

Environmental Service Worker

Under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean and pleasant atmosphere. Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill's Mission Statement, established policies, procedures and current legislation and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of the residents and promotes maximum independence.

The Environmental Service Worker maintains assigned areas within Marianhill in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition by performing various cleaning and housekeeping duties as well operates laundry equipment and performs manual work associated with the processing and distribution of laundry.

  • Grade 11 education is required.
  • Experience in commercial cleaning services is an asset.
  • Experience in the operation of commercial cleaning equipment is an asset.
  • Experience in commercial laundry services is an asset.
  • Experience working with geriatrics and dementia care is an asset.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
  • Oral and written proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attendance is essential.

Wage: CUPE 2764 Collective Agreement, hourly $23.27-$ % in lieu of benefits.

Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, etc., is required as well as proof of a 2-Step Mantoux TB Skin Test dated within the last year with a current updated 1-Step. You will be required to provide an original, clear vulnerable sector criminal record check dated within the last 6 months and be able to sign a declaration at time of hire. Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer and you must participate in the Annual Influenza Program and N95 Mask Fit Testing Program as applicable.
