Cashier - Biz Booth  - Student Work Study job opportunities open to full-time Fanshawe College students who qualify for the Work Study Bursary program.

This opportunity is supported through The Work Study Employment Program, which is designed to provide work opportunities to Fanshawe College full-time post-secondary or post diploma students with a demonstrated financial need. 

Eligible Students

•Domestic Students at Fanshawe College must be a full-time registered student, and meet financial needs assessment criteria 

•International Students at Fanshawe College must be registered as a full-time student, and have a valid study permit and Social Insurance Number

•Must be in good academic standing according to program requirements.

Successful candidates may be asked to apply to the Work Study Employment Program.  The Work Study Employment Program will help Fanshawe Student Union financially to employ students over the summer, fall, and winter term.

Biz Booth Cashier 

Summary 

The Biz Booth Cashier provides exceptional customer service while processing credit and debit transactions for Fanshawe Student Union (FSU) events and services. This role also includes oversight of the Games Room, assistance with stocking, organizing, basic inventory, and maintaining a clean, welcoming workspace. In addition, the Biz Booth serves as a mini-hub for FSU information—Cashiers will answer general questions about the FSU, its services, events and resources, helping students navigate campus life and stay informed.

Job Duties

• Greet customers and provide accurate information about events and Games Room services
• Respond to general customer inquiries about the FSU, its services, events, and resources
• Process transactions using a register (debit and credit only)
• Enter student data into internal databases accurately
• Assist with opening and closing daily sales
• Review inventory, stock, and organize supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the Biz Booth and Games Room
• Supervise the Games Room and ensure a safe, welcoming environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

• Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
• Knowledge of the FSU and its services an asset
• Strong data entry and accurate typing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Friendly, outgoing, and approachable demeanor
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
• Professional appearance and behavior
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
