HOURS OF WORK:  Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Research Coordinator – Inclusive Excellence promotes diversity and interdisciplinarity supporting initiatives that recognize and elevate the diversity of research itself, championing inclusive definitions of research that value a broad range of methodologies, worldviews, knowledge systems, and scholarly traditions. This role advances the University of Windsor's commitment to inclusive excellence by imbedding principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and Indigenous Rights (IR) across all aspects of research, scholarship, creative activity, and innovation. The Research Coordinator – Inclusive Excellence works to ensure that inclusive excellence is understood not only in terms of who participates in research, but also in terms of what knowledge is produced, how it is produced, and who it serves.

Some of the key job functions include:

•    Support and guide researchers in developing and submitting high-quality funding applications for inclusive excellence, including EDI- and Indigenous Research–informed funding applications.

•    Identify and promote inclusive funding and award opportunities, supporting equitable application and nomination processes.

•    Provide guidance, training, and resources to help embed EDI and IR principles across research activities.

•    Support institutional initiatives and data tracking that advance inclusive research culture and responsible assessment.

•    Review and coordinate institutional submissions to ensure compliance with agency and institutional requirements.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate will possess:

•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field as determined by the department

•    Demonstrable understanding of diversity and inclusivity in research, scholarship, creative activities, and innovation with experience in research administration

•    Professional EDI training, such as certification by the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, and three years work-related experience supporting equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization through education and outreach and ability to deliver inclusive and accessible services

•    Demonstrated experience creating reports, grant applications, and other research-related documents

•    Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment

•    Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to read, understand, analyze, edit, and revise writing from diverse disciplines, including grant proposals, research reports, and budgets.

•    Proven people-centered service delivery with a keen sense of responsibility and confidence to communicate effectively and respond to diverse demands and expectations from researchers and internal/external partners

•    Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail

•    Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills and meet restrictive and often competing agency deadlines, and other priorities and projects

•    Proficiency with MS Office Productivity Suite and use of databases

•    Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, build and maintain relationships, foresee and mitigate conflict, exercise initiative and discretionary judgement, and persuade with tact and diplomacy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Knowledge of the University of Windsor, including individual research areas, administrative operations and services, and policies and procedures related to research activities

•    Knowledge of national and international grants and awards programs and criteria
