The Valve Technician is responsible for disassembling and assembling various valve types according to shop work instructions and procedures. This role identifies required components, submits material requests, and fits/reassembles valves following production and quality processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop work instructions and shop procedures.
  • Disassemble/ Assemble valves and route to other production areas as required work instructions.
  • Identify components necessary for reassembly and submit material requests to inventory control.
  • Fit and reassemble valves after completion of other production and quality control processes.
  • Cross trained in other areas as needed.
  • Significant overtime and weekend work required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8 hour shifts
  • Able to work in a high production environment
  • Must be able lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion
  • Basic computer skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Crane and Rigging Experience an asset
  • Forklift (sit down and reach) experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Education and Qualifications

  • High school or GED required, as well as a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • 2+ years of valve or related mechanical experience.
