Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment and systems primarily within the construction and oil & gas industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and the ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, precision, and technical expertise are paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery used in construction and oil & gas operations
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues, including programming and diagnostics of PLCs
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various work environments
  • Assist with installation, calibration, and setup of new equipment or systems
  • Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, adjustments, or system configurations
  • Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications accurately

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery effectively
  • Background in construction or oil & gas industries is preferred
  • Proficiency in basic math for measurements and calculations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding environments
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to heavy equipment operation
