Main duties

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Preparing layouts using measuring tools.
• Cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing wood and other construction materials.
• Constructing foundations, framing floors, walls, and roof systems.
• Installing doors, stairs, trim, moldings, and hardware.
• Performing repairs, renovations, and maintenance on existing structures.
• Working efficiently and independently while maintaining company quality standards.

Employment requirements

• Completion of secondary school
• Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry

• Steel-toed safety boots
• Hard hat
• Construction Gloves & Safety Glasses
• Construction Clothes
• Personal hand tools (measure tape, hammer, Utility knife, Torpedo level, tool belt)
