Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with POS systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus. The Cashier will play a vital role in maintaining smooth store operations and fostering customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases
  • Operate POS systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
  • Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision and security
  • Provide product information and demos when applicable, including technology sales or merchandising displays
  • Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
  • Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure the cleanliness of the cashier station
  • Manage customer inquiries professionally via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
  • Assist in inventory management and restocking shelves as needed
  • Support team members with various tasks to ensure efficient store operations
  • Uphold company policies regarding cash handling, security, and customer service standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cashiering, retail sales, or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities such as Spanish or other languages are a plus
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to perform product demos and upsell items confidently
  • Professional appearance with good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed; prior experience in technology sales or merchandising is advantageous

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
