POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Avionics Supervisor, the Avionics Technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of advanced avionics systems on a wide range of helicopter types. They are responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting avionics systems in accordance with all regulatory requirements, technical data, and company standards. As a core member of the avionics team, they deliver precise and compliant work that upholds Alpine Aerotech's reputation for quality, safety, and technical excellence in helicopter maintenance and support.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AVIONICS TECHNICIAN

  • Showcase a thorough understanding of aircraft systems such as: electrical, power generation and navigation, communications, and auto-flight systems on small piston helicopters, small and medium turbine helicopter;
  • Perform maintenance and installation of avionics systems in accordance with applicable drawings and manuals;
  • Troubleshoot avionics systems to diagnose and perform adjustments, service, repairs and modifications according to SOPs;
  • Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance;
  • Complete and certify tasks and related documentation;
  • Assist in training Avionics Apprentices;
  • Fulfill additional duties as required; and
  • Uphold an unwavering standard of excellence that impeccably represents the Alpine Aerotech brand.

OUR MUST HAVES

  • AME-E Transport Canada license;
  • Experience with maintenance and installation of avionics and related electrical systems;
  • Previous avionics and electrical systems experience on Bell, Airbus or Leonardo aircraft considered an asset;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to generate high quality deliverables;
  • Strong time and project management skills and self-motivation;
  • Robust interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and professional maturity with demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build professional relationships;
  • Awareness of the sensitivity of information received and appropriate handling; and
  • Know what it means to work smarter, not harder.
