JSM Law is currently seeking an individual with experience in Civil Litigation Law.

If you are a Senior Civil Litigation Clerk or a Civil Litigation Lawyer, this is a great opportunity to join our growing team.

Responsibilities for the Clerk include, but are not limited to:

  • Meeting with clients;
  • Drafting, reviewing, amending and updating Civil Litigation documents;
  • Drafting Statements of Claim, Mediation Memorandums, Trial Records, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

Responsibilities for the Lawyer include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending Court;
  • Drafting, reviewing, amending and updating Civil Litigation documents (Statements of Claim, Mediation Memorandums, etc.;
  • Attending and representing clients for Motions, Examinations for Discovery, Pre-Trials, etc.
  • Researching, factum writing, correspondence with opposing counsel;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications for the Clerk or Lawyer:

  • 3+ years of experience at a law firm in Canada;
  • Knowledge of Civil Litigation - Rules of Civil Procedure;
  • Interest, expertise and demonstrated previous experience in Civil Law;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and strong work ethics; and
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Additional Qualifications for the Lawyer:

  • J.D. or LL.B.;
  • License to practice law in Ontario;
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario;
