ETRO Construction is seeking a People + Culture Generalist: to join our Brand + Culture team. This role is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment and is passionate about fostering growth, engagement, and connection across teams. The People + Culture Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, employee relations, and engagement. Acting as a trusted partner to employees and leaders, this role ensures fair and consistent practices, supports professional development, and contributes to ETRO's culture of collaboration and excellence.
What you'll do:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for various roles, from entry-level to mid-senior positions.
- Partner with hiring managers on job descriptions, recruitment strategies, and interviews.
- Manage onboarding and new hire orientation, ensuring a seamless employee experience.
- Conduct milestone check-ins and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support ETRO's People Builder Program and annual performance review cycles.
- Advise managers on feedback, goal-setting, and development planning.
- Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, policies, and workplace concerns.
- Support employee relations matters under the guidance of the People + Culture Manager.
- Administer benefits, compensation changes, and support payroll processes.
- Lead engagement initiatives - including events, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
- Manage HR data and reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Contribute to process improvements and policy updates that enhance HR operations.
- Represent ETRO at career fairs and community events to strengthen the employer brand.
What you bring:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources or a similar generalist role.
- Education: Certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment standards, HR best practices, and workplace legislation.
- Skills: Experience managing full-cycle recruitment and employee engagement programs.
- Technical: Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management tools (ADP experience an asset).
- Attributes: Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion; a collaborative, people-first approach with a focus on fairness and continuous improvement.
