As a
Director/Associate Director, Investments
at Hiive, you will work closely with our Head of Investments to operationalize and execute new investment initiatives across the firm. This is a high-impact role that blends strategic advisor and boots-on-the-ground operator to drive multiple firmwide mandates.

You'll be deeply embedded in Hiive's most critical growth initiatives: from building products for the wealth management channel, managing institutional relationships, supporting issuer engagements and exploring new lines of business for the company. You will also ensure that Hiive's Investments team runs with the urgency, precision, and sophistication demanded by our clients.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Would Include

  • Partner closely with the Head of Investments, serving as a strategic and operational extension of their role by anticipating priorities, preparing materials, and ensuring seamless execution of internal and external commitments.
  • Provide organizational leverage by driving agendas, managing follow-ups, and coordinating across Sales & Trading, Product, Legal, and Executive teams.
  • Work closely with the Wealth Management team to design and implement products which will be used by the largest wealth advisors in the world
  • Represent Hiive credibly with top financial institutions (VC funds, family offices, hedge funds, secondary funds, custodians, RIAs), stepping into meetings to deepen relationships and capture opportunities.
  • Support issuer engagement and transaction execution, working alongside the Head of Investments on structuring, analyzing, and completing complex secondary transactions and issuer partnerships.
  • Ensure operational excellence by overseeing investment team workflows including pipeline tracking, research and analysis, reporting, and board/executive-level updates.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years in management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or a high-growth fintech/marketplace. Familiarity with private capital markets strongly preferred.
  • Comfort moving seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Ability to represent Hiive with sophistication to senior investors, issuers, and executives.
  • Exceptional project management, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex investment opportunities and communicate insights clearly.
  • Alignment with Hiive's values: urgency, customer-first mindset, and an intense drive to build something enduring.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

  • Highly competitive salary commensurate with experience and contribution.
  • Opportunity to participate in ownership of a rapidly growing early-stage startup through our employee stock option plan.
  • Comprehensive 100% employer-paid health and dental premiums, a health and personal spending account.
  • A dedicated desk in our Vancouver, BC HQ, in the heart of downtown, with a fridge stocked with healthy snacks and drinks, an onsite gym, and a gorgeous rooftop amenity.
  • Enjoy a $20-per-day commuter benefit for every day you work in our Vancouver HQ.
  • An engaging social calendar, including bi-weekly catered lunches, bi-weekly "Friday bar," team workouts, annual summer party, and holiday party, two "onsite" all-team retreats each year, semi-annual team-building events, and Hiive Womens' Network events.
  • Significant opportunities for growth into team leadership and management roles.
  • Entrepreneurial culture and a small and dynamic team.
  • Sponsorship, immigration, and relocation for exceptional candidates.

Hiive is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed.
