The Leduc Beaumont Devon Primary Care Network is a joint venture between participating local family physicians and Alberta Health Services. Our mandate is to sustain and enhance the quality, coordination, and integration of health care services in Leduc and area and to improve the quality of life for the community of patients and physicians.

The Leduc Beaumont Devon Primary Care Network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the healthcare team at Smyth Associate Clinic. Working to full scope of practice, this position will provide comprehensive nursing services to the patient population in a family practice setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive and focused health assessments.
  • Ensure emphasis on health promotion, screening, chronic disease management and prevention across the patient lifespan.
  • Provide patient education to prevent and manage clinical conditions.
  • Provide resources and motivational interviewing to enhance overall health and well-being of patients.
  • Assist and perform clinic procedures as required and directed by physicians.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse diploma from an accredited school is required.
  • Current CLPNA registration.
  • Health promotion/education is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a relevant setting.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and work collaboratively with clinic staff and physicians.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current criminal record check.
  • Computer skills required. EMR experience would be an asset.

Salary, Benefits, and Hours of Work:

  • The salary range for this position is $28-$35.73/hour
  • We offer group benefits that includes a health spending account.
