Maintenance Technical Lead
Job Summary
Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for an Maintenance Technical Lead. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do
The Maintenance Technical Lead responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations.
- Oversee and direct the activities of a small multi-trade maintenance crew to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities.
- Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies.
- Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions.
- Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance for the skilled trades.
- Oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment and facilities.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability.
- Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests.
- Point of contact for janitorial services contract.
- Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups.
- Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks.
- Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, etc.
- Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment .
Basics
- Associate's degree.
- Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or an electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent).
- 5-10 years of troubleshooting automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit.
- Experience in a unionized labour environment, 5 -10 years would be a benefit.
- Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations relating to industrial maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs.
- Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Willing to work weekends as required.
- Driving of a vehicle required.
- 100% onsite position.
Preferred
- Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent) .
- Experience in a unionized labour environment.
- Computers skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to use computer and web based software.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Willing to work weekends as required.
- 5-10 years of experience supervising maintenance activities in a construction or industrial environment.
