Job description
QUEST is recognized as a Canadian leader in the distribution and manufacturing of industrial products for critical fluid sealing processes. The wide variety of sealing solutions provided by QUEST have been important tools for many industries including the Refining, Chemical Process, and Power Generation industries.
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining various machines and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations of the facility.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are maintained, repaired, and operating at peak efficiency - reporting any machine, safety, or other concerns to the Manufacturing Foreman.
- Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work.
- Planning, producing, and executing work orders.
- Installations, repairs, or maintenance (mechanical, electricians, chemicals, etc.).
- Overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address safety factors.
- Participate in coordination of projects, including renovations and on-site projects.
- Administrative tasks such as scheduling maintenance; monitoring inventory and equipment levels; as well as pricing and purchasing parts.
- Communicate with departments and personnel regarding progress, timelines, and maintenance scheduling.
- Other duties as required.
Experience with the following machines/equipment is preferable:
- CNC Laser Cutter.
- Waterjets.
- Milling & Turning.
- Bandsaw, circular saw.
- Forklifts.
Key Qualifications Include:
- Post-secondary courses or journeyman ticket.
- Class 1,2,4, and 5 Forklift Certification considered an asset.
- Experience with all aspects of Microsoft Office, including excel, word, and outlook.
- Experience using a Manufacturing Information System (MIS).
- Industry Experience in manufacturing environment or as a qualified tradesman.
- Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (Mechanical, Electrical, SolidWorks Draftsman, Gibbs CAM programming, etc.).
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a complex environment, take initiative.
- Exceptional time management skills - Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple demands.
