SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Assistant's primary role is to assume assigned responsibilities designed to successfully fulfill the department's primary functions of inventory management and related procurement. Related responsibilities are to be executed at a high standard (completely, accurately, in a timely manner) as supervised by the Supply Chain Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These tasks are strictly an outline of essential duties & responsibilities; any other duties may also be assigned when required.

Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager:

a. Inventory Management: receiving, sorting, and storing incoming parts and supplies; maintaining accurate records of parts on hand using manual or computerized systems; and preparing requisitions to replenish stock.

b. Order Fulfillment: processing internal requisitions and issuing parts for use within the company; shipping and receiving parts; and verifying back-orders.

c. Administrative Tasks: maintaining records of orders, invoices, and special-order parts, ongoing cycle counts

d. Stocking and Organization: keeping parts and supplies stored in the prescribed manner (orderly and accessible)

e. Management support and relief: providing temporary manager relief during vacations, illness, educational development, and other such circumstances

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Good with numbers and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication skills (asks when unsure)
  • Computer (keyboarding) proficiency

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shift work (Mon-Fri to start, Tues - Sat once training complete)
  • Experience with manual and computerized inventory systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (primarily Outlook and Excel)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Forklift certificate
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • WHMIS

PREFERRENTIAL (OPTIONAL) SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of parts and maintenance: small engines, automotive, heavy duty, mining and crushing, and hand tools
  • Parts Technician trade qualification (Red Seal or in progress)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 55lbs
  • Outdoor and indoor yard work in varying weather conditions
  • Physical role requiring lifting, equipment use, and prolonged standing/walking

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & OTHER COMMENTS:

  • Three month (90 day) probationary period
  • Annual performance review

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
