As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing diverse recreational programs that cater to a wide range of age groups and interests, ensuring a vibrant and welcoming environment for all participants. This position will offer an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the community while developing professional skills in recreation management.

Duties

  • Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates recreational programs, including community outings, arts and crafts, word games, cooking, fitness classes, arts and special events.
  • Collaborates with community organizations, schools, and local agencies to develop partnerships that expand program offerings.
  • Supervises activity workers, volunteers, and contractors involved in program delivery, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality experiences.
  • Provides direction to volunteer's, including training and orientation duties.
  • Prepares assessments for use in developing goals with residents to enhance their quality of life by maintaining and improving physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning.
  • Exchanges information during committee meetings, team conferences, family meetings and other resident-focused conferences on matters related to residents needs, desires and responses to care provided.
  • Collects feedback from participants to evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements accordingly.
  • Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from diverse community members of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Monitors equipment, tools, materials and supplies. Maintains work area in an orderly condition, cleaning and putting away equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized recreation program.
  • Prior experience in recreation management or community programming is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, staff and community partners effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events or programming schedules.
  • A proactive attitude with problem-solving skills to address challenges promptly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31.89-$35.17 per hour
