Position Overview:
LEGACY is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented senior level Contaminated Sites Project Manager, ideally based in the Lower Mainland area to support our British Columbia operations. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, posses project management and regulatory experience in contaminated sites, and want to work with a team that acknowledges and awards high performance. If successful, your primary role will be within LEGACY's Contaminated Sites team, where you will work closely with all levels and disciplines of environmental practitioners and contribute to a diverse range of projects across British Columbia. These projects span multiple sectors, including land development, oil and gas, and government, and offer exposure to varied and engaging work.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager in LEGACY's Contaminated sites practice, your role expectations include, but are not limited to, the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Directing and overseeing field programs including groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, test pitting, borehole drilling, groundwater well and vapour probe installation, soil vapour sampling, remediation, sediment sampling, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessment site visits.
- Providing senior regulatory and technical oversight and review of Stage 1 & 2 Preliminary Site Investigation, Detailed Site Investigations, remediation programs and regulatory submissions.
- Authoring and preparing technical reports and work plans with technical oversight as needed.
- Preparing Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals Certification Document submissions.
- Actively participating in marketing and business development initiatives, supporting efforts to expand client relationships and project opportunities.
- Contributing to the preparation of project cost estimates in collaboration with all relevant disciplines.
- Ensuring all deliverables meet regulatory and technical requirements, while adhering to specifications, scope, budget, and schedule, and comply with quality procedures and project plans.
- Working closely with project teams to define, align, and achieve project objectives through collaboration and proactive problem-solving.
- Participating in, and when required, leading regular project meetings to monitor progress and address and resolve issues that arise.
- Conducting reviews and quality checks on applicable projects to uphold standards and best practices.
- Adhering to and championing our health & safety and quality control policies.
- Training, mentoring, and providing ongoing guidance to staff, including supporting professional development and progression within the contaminated sites practice.
Qualifications:

- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Highly motivated and willing to take ownership of tasks, while remaining flexible and able to adapt to dynamic project priorities and timelines.
- Enjoy a fast-paced work environment with a focus on high-quality data and deliverables.
- College diploma or university degree in environmental technology, science, engineering, or related discipline.
- Possess a professional designation.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Experience working directly with clients, contractors, or regulators.
- Contaminated Sites Approved Professional (CSAP) designation.
- Human health and ecological risk assessment.
