Job Overview

We need 1 year or more experienced AZ cross border company drivers residing in the Niagara Region.

All applicants must have the following:

  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card to enter US Ports (requirement is a Canadian Passport or US Visa with a TWIC annotation)

G. Zavitz Ltd. is a family owned and operated company located in the Niagara Region since 1952. We are looking for 1 year or more experienced drivers to operate in our US North East lanes. GZL is fortunate to have a strong customer base of which we have decades' long relationships with. This provides us with steady, consistent work. With this strong customer base, we already have the work, you aren't waiting for us to find you a load – so we just need YOU. As a Highway Driver, you start and finish round trips from our Niagara Falls terminal, so no Greater Toronto traffic. Our own on-site shop limits any down time. We believe that drivers deserve to get paid for all the work they do, that is why we pay hub miles not computer miles, all pick-ups and deliveries are paid as well as waiting time. We have a long-tenured, experienced dispatch staff that understands the challenges facing today's driver and are skilled to keep you moving.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer to transport freight across designated routes. (North East USA)
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
  • Follow Hours of Service rules and maintain accurate records of deliveries
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch
  • Adhere to all local, state, provincial and federal transportation regulations

Experience

  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Minimum 1-year verifiable AZ experience.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card to enter US Ports (requirement is a Canadian Passport or US Visa with a TWIC annotation)
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.

Pay: $75,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
