SUMMARY

Field Technician I is accountable for collecting client samples from oil and gas wells and facilities within their assigned region.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must comply with Safety Responsibilities explained in the Safety Responsibility Policy (CA-ADMR-S24).
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
• Maintain compliance with the Health, Safety, and Quality Management System requirements (i.e. performing /conducting activities (processes) in compliance with standard operating procedures, standard test methods and quality system procedures).
• Ensure that all safety infractions are reported in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities.
• Receive oilfield sample and log sample details into internal database system
• Maintain a safe, clean efficient workplace.
• Maintain regular communication with Calgary laboratory regarding field sampling and lab analyses requirements
• Perform sample shipping, ensuring transportation regulations of dangerous goods are being followed for shipments out of Fort St. John
• Perform additional duties as requested by senior staff
• Interact with clients to arrange field sampling schedules.
• Responds to client concerns and requests.
• Comply with safety regulations of oilfield clients.
• Perform field analysis and sampling of pressurized hydrocarbon gas and liquid samples and oilfield water samples as per "Field Services Standard Operating Procedures and Forms".
• Accurately complete field sampling data sheets for all field work
• Travel/work out of town, as required
• Ensures the following regarding assigned field vehicle(s):
• Routine cleaning
• Routine Service
• Ensuring maintenance and repairs performed as and when required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Secondary diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years combined related experience and education preferred.
• Must hold a current driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record required
