Job Summary

The Detailing/Drafting Manager is responsible for supervising the drafting team and coordinating design and drafting activities related to various construction and engineering projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Lead and manage the drafting team, prioritizing workloads and ensuring the quality of work produced meets industry standards.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee drafting projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and check all drawings and designs produced by the team for accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to ensure project requirements are met and facilitate effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets and resources effectively to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support for design and drafting activities, mentoring junior drafters as needed.
  • Reporting: Regularly report project progress to senior management and address any issues that arise during the drafting process.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Detailing/Drafting Manager or in a similar role within the design industry.
  • Proficiency in Tekla Structures.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to drafting and design.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and software advancements in the drafting field
