JOB DESCRIPTION

The Integrated Community Access Program is seeking a occupational Therapist with training and experience providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with adults who experience emotions dysregulation and borderline personality disorder. This occupational therapist will be involved in all aspects of an adherent dialectical behaviour therapy outpatient program. As a key member of the team, you will also provide clinical assessment, treatment, consultative and educational services to clients, families, community providers, referral sources and other community partners. You will have formal training in DBT, previous individual and group psychotherapy experience and comfort working in person and virtually.

Requirements:

• Masters in Occupational Therapy

• Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) in good standing.

• Demonstrated knowledge of COTO Standards of Practice.

• Certification and practice in DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).

• Knowledge and experience working with borderline personality disorder in an outpatient population

• 3-5 years of recent psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service is preferred

• Community mental health service provision experience is required

• Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups

• Understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required

• Experience with presentations is an asset.

• The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and experience with case management, clinical assessment, intervention and documentation of care.

• The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills

• Current CPR-HCP is required.

• The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is considered an asset

• Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position
