Calgary, Alberta, Canada ALL SENIORS CARE Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

We are looking for a full time Nurse Educator to join our team at our brand-new luxury retirement residence, Aspen Heights

As the Nurse Educator (RN) you coordinate the daily provision of care. You would be responsible for provide leadership and clinical direction to multidisciplinary staff in the provision of care to clients and families as well as assist in the professional development of staff by providing clinical and mentorship support using a person-centred care philosophy.

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Current CRNA registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
  • Education or training in geriatrics is an asset
  • 2-3 years of recent clinical experience and experienced in mentoring clinical staff, preferable in a continuing care setting
  • Experience working in the community with independent; assisted living and memory care residents
  • Demonstrates strong clinical leadership and mentoring skills, with ability to lead using a hand-on approach
  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of resources available to clients
  • Familiar with Audit Preparation (CCHSS / Accommodation Standards, etc.)

Responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Provide clinical mentorship support to frontline staff by demonstrating responsible, quality and safe client care
  • Leading the education required for the provision of person-centered care that honors our residents' personhood and always promotes dignity and respect.
  • Clinical education and support to front line staff on a one-to-one basis to provide mentorship
  • Ensure staff complete orientation on a timely basis and that annual mandatory education is completed and documented both through in service and the learning center.
  • Maintain records and documentation and ensure that all education requirements are met to meet accreditation and standards requirements.
  • Update education as required by Alberta Health Services through the continuing care standard
