Position Title: Maintenance

Location: Calgary, AB, T2B 3M1

Job Type: Full Time Permanent, on call as needed (weekends / evenings).

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on warehouse machinery and equipment. This role ensures all systems operate efficiently and safely, supporting continuous production and compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
  • Execute tasks outlined in the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
  • Equipment Commissioning & Safety:
  • Commission new or modified equipment, ensuring it meets operational and food safety standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules based on manufacturer guidelines and risk assessments.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure all maintenance chemicals are properly labeled and stored in accordance with WHMIS and MSDS regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop to minimize contamination risks.
  • Repairs & Emergency Response:
  • Perform temporary and emergency repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Clean and sanitize tools and work areas after maintenance, especially when working on food contact surfaces.
  • Remove all potential foreign body hazards (e.g., bolts, screws, parts) post-maintenance.
  • Inventory & Tool Management:
  • Maintain controlled inventory and secure storage of tools and equipment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in electrical systems or mechanical engineering is an asset.
  • Valid forklift license and/or scissor lift would be considered an asset.
  • Willingness to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing 30+ lbs. safely and effectively.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to sustain prolonged periods of activity, repetitive movements, and manual labor.
  • Previous work experience is an asset but not required.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Commitment to safety standards and practices.
