Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Purchaser/Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will support procurement activities by managing supplier relationships and sourcing strategies to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials. Your contributions will help us maintain our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Purchasing

· Create & Issue Purchase Orders

· Solicit & Evaluate Supplier Quotations

· Maintain Approved Supplier Base

· Evaluate and Establish New Suppliers

· Maintain Supplier Files

· Monitor & Expedite Receipt of Materials/Services

· Maintain Records & Files Related to Purchasing Processes

· Process Client Purchase Orders & Internal Requisitions

Shipping/Receiving

· Generate Required Shipping Documents (Domestic & International). Familiar with completion of USMCA/CUSMA certificates.

· Understand and identify correct HS Codes (Harmonized System Codes)

· Identify Shipping Needs & Select the Appropriate Method/Supplier

· Package Outgoing Materials for Shipment

· Reconcile Received Materials/Services with Purchase Orders

Accounts Payable/Receivable

· Assist Finance with AP Process by Approving or Seeking Approval for the Payment of Supplier Invoices

· Resolve any Invoice Discrepancies

· Provide Finance with Shipping Related Expenses for Customer Shipments

· Receive Materials into ERP System

Inventory Control

· Maintain Inventory Facilities & Monitor Inventory Transactions

· Allocate Inventory as Needed & Adjust Inventory Records Appropriately

· Investigate/Resolve Inventory Discrepancies

· Maintain Records & Files Related to Inventory Processes

Clerical

· Outlook

· Internet Explorer

· Microsoft Word

· Microsoft Excel

· Total ETO (Formerly Questica) an Asset

· Prepare Reports/Correspondence

General

· Accurately comply with detailed procedures

· Maintain neatness & accuracy in all aspects of his/her work

Qualifications/Experience

Applicants must have a secondary school diploma and a minimum of two years experience in a purchasing position (preference will be given to those with Purchasing/Buying within a manufacturing environment). A university degree, college diploma or other post-secondary education or training directly related to purchasing and/or materials management is preferred. Proficiency both in oral and written English is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
