Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all surveying activities related to construction projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and as-built surveys.
- Lead and manage survey teams, including surveyors and technicians, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment, ensuring proper functioning and accuracy for field operations.
- Coordinate the collection and analysis of survey data, ensuring accuracy and reliability in measurements and calculations.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of survey data and reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide survey support and accurate data for project planning and execution.
- Ensure surveying activities comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and safety regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate survey records, maps, and reports documenting survey findings and land-related information.
- Manage surveying budgets, resources, and procurement of survey materials as needed for projects.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment under different weather and environmental conditions including noise, dust, cold and hot weather, etc.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field, professional licensure or certification in advantageous.
- 8 years of experience in land surveying, with proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Ontario Land Surveyor experience considered an asset.
- Proficiency in surveying instruments, software and geographic information systems (GIS).
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, land laws, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate survey teams.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective decision-making critical thinking skills.
