About the Role:

CANEIL is seeking an Asset Integrity Technologist on either a full-time permanent basis or a 1-year contract to support pipeline integrity programs in the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will be based in Red Deer, with travel to various field locations throughout Alberta as required. The position is focused primarily on pipeline systems, with limited involvement in facility assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of pipeline integrity programs, including data management, field verification, and inspection coordination
  • Assist in conducting pipeline integrity evaluations, corrosion rate modeling, and risk assessments
  • Review inspection and dig reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with integrity and regulatory standards
  • Perform field verification and support engineering assessments such as pipeline resumptions, H₂S increases, MOP decreases, and related evaluations
  • Maintain and update pipeline integrity databases and documentation
  • Coordinate with engineering and field teams to plan and execute integrity activities safely and efficiently
  • Prepare summary reports and communicate findings clearly to project engineers and internal stakeholders
  • Travel to field sites as needed to support ongoing integrity program activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pipeline integrity, inspection, or related oil and gas operations
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (CSA Z662, API, ABSA, TSASK, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, data management, and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and integrity software tools (e.g., GIS, ILI management systems, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field locations

Assets:

  • Certifications or training related to pipeline integrity, inspection, or corrosion
  • Experience working in both office and field environments
  • Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, defect assessments, and repair methodologies
  • Field safety certifications (H2S Alive, First Aid, CSO, etc.)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $75,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
