Job Title: Warehouse Cleaner

Reports To: Director of Food Safety

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday from 6am to 3pm / Monday to Friday from 3pm to 12am

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and hardworking Warehouse Cleaner to join our team at a fast-paced produce repacking, regrading, and warehousing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in the warehouse, cooler areas, and surrounding spaces. This role involves regular cleaning tasks, washing and cleaning of equipment and utensils, removing ponding water in the coolers, disposing of garbage, and ensuring the cleanliness of floors and other high-traffic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Cooler and Floor Cleaning:

• Daily removal of ponding water in cooler areas to ensure proper drainage and prevent buildup.
• Weekly cleaning of drains
• Clean and sanitize cooler floors, walls, and shelves as needed.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors in all warehouse and production areas daily, ensuring all high-traffic zones are free of debris, spills, and dirt.
• Use appropriate floor care chemicals and equipment to maintain cleanliness and safety.

Garbage Removal:

• Empty trash bins throughout the warehouse and cooler areas regularly.

General Warehouse Cleaning:

• Clean and sanitize surfaces, including racks, shelving, workbenches, and machinery, as required.
• Remove dust, dirt, and debris from high surfaces and hard-to-reach areas.
• Clean loading docks and exterior areas as needed.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or Facility Manager immediately.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and chemicals are handled and stored according to safety standards.

Other Duties as Assigned:

• Assist in special cleaning projects or deep cleaning as directed by the supervisor.
• Help maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Maintain and operate a "Factory Cat" floor scrubber and chemical dispensing systems.
• Prior experience in a warehouse cleaning or janitorial role is preferred but not required.
• Experience in a food processing or produce-related environment is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license and able to travel between locations.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment (coolers and freezers).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods.
• Comfortable working in cold and wet environments (coolers and freezers).

Compensation & Benefits:

• $20-25 hourly rate.
