As the
Site IT Support
(SIS), you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees for a range of hardware and software related systems. You will provide effective and timely resolution of users' problems, queries or complaints, along with recommending upgrades or improvements to IT infrastructure.

You will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager - North Central USCA (US & Canada).

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot a range of user problems including PC hardware/software/LAN and voice network.
  • Diagnose problem source through discussions with users and coordinating with internal IT organization support, operations groups and/or with vendors to resolve problems.
  • Acquire, install, and upgrade PC components or software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems.
  • Train users on use of new technology and software.
  • Performs pro-active monitoring of PPG's computer systems through appropriate tools.
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure end user resolutions.
  • Participate in various IT projects working with internal and external teams.
  • Oversight of up to 200 IT end users, no direct reports.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 1 or more years of related IT experience.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills specifically listening and providing clear guidance.
  • Ability to efficiently analyze and resolve technical problems, evaluate alternative approaches and to recommend the most feasible and economical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to document operations procedures.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts and holidays.
