Join our winning team, awarded one of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures for *
Job descriptionJob Summary:
The Lean Specialist at Massilly North America is a newly created, high-impact role designed to champion operational excellence. This position acts as a central strategic "cog," bridging all departments to drive a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven processes and supply chain management solutions. The primary focus is to transform a "blank page" into a robust waste reduction program, with the ultimate goal of institutionalizing long-term fixes that significantly reduce the cost of scrap while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a year-to-year waste reduction strategy and lead a cross-departmental steering team to institutionalize sustainable solutions.
- Drive lean methodologies (such as Six Sigma and SMED) to minimize scrap and optimize efficiency across coating, printing, and stamping operations.
- Establish automated, live reporting systems to track waste reduction and perform rigorous root cause analysis on process and supply chain issues.
- Provide practical training and mentorship to team members, creating essential templates for lean mapping and troubleshooting tools.
- Coordinate between supply chain and operations to resolve material-related issues, such as metals and compounds, while managing internal and external stakeholder expectations.
- Participate in occasional travel to Europe and the US to align with global operational standards.
What you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management is highly recommended to support data-driven process and supply chain management solutions.
- A Professional certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is essential, as the role requires leading SMED and other advanced lean methodologies.
- Significant experience in Lean methodology and operational leadership, specifically in driving cost-reduction initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making, utilizing critical thinking to identify gaps and implement strategic rather than short-term fixes.
- A "firm but fair" leadership philosophy that prioritizes collaboration.
We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for the interview will be contacted.
