Position Details

Job Type: part time, permanent

Compensation: $19.50/hour

What You'll Be Doing:

As an Assistant Cook, you will play a key role in bringing large scale, high energy events to life.
  • Support the culinary team in preparing and executing food service for banquets, galas, concerts, conventions, and special events
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
  • Assist with food preparation, plating, and service while following established recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Ensure food is prepared accurately and on time, with attention to quality, presentation, and waste reduction
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures at all times
  • Assist with opening and closing duties to support smooth event operations
  • Help care for and maintain kitchen equipment and tools
  • Learn and grow culinary skills through hands-on experience alongside experienced cooks and chefs
  • Contribute to positive guest experiences by delivering consistent, high-quality food
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful events
What You Bring to the Table
  • Experience with banquet, catering or high volume kitchen environments
  • Excellent knife skills and deep knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Confidence supervising and mentoring kitchen team members
  • Safe Food Handler's Certificate (Required)
  • Culinary Trade Certification or Read Seal (an asset)
  • A passion for food and a drive to do your best every shift
  • Valid G License an asset (for off premise catering)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event based hours
