What You'll Be Doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Core Banking and Payments Technology team. The role is responsible for leading solution designs across systems, technologies, and platforms in Core banking - Mortgages, Lending, and Insurance Portfolio. The role provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across applications and platforms ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. In addition, the role provides comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams. The role makes technology selection decisions that are often made in situations where business requirements are not completely defined.

How You'll Succeed

• Solution Design: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into solution design that is aligned with our technology and application roadmaps. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.
• Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology and application roadmaps that are aligned with the bank's vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the solution design lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support project team through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate 8-10 years' experience in designing, developing, implementing solution designs across different front ends (JavaScript, Angular, React) , interfaces and processing logic (Java, API, and batch), microservices, messaging (Solace, MQ, Kafka), databases (Oracle, MS SQL, NoSQL). Understanding of cloud technologies, Azure preferred. Proficient in sequence diagrams, UMLs, object-oriented designs, and security design principles. Experienced in presenting ideas and designs to senior management and various stakeholders. It is an asset if you have knowledge and experience of Artificial Intelligence and how it can be used in designs. Experience within Financial services industry.
• You have a degree/diploma: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline.
