About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Instructor to supervise, mentor, and support Personal Support Worker (PSW) students during their Long-Term Care (LTC) clinical placement in Campbellford , ON for up to 4 weeks. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality training in accordance with the NACC PSW Program Requirements, and facility policies.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to Long term care Home in Campbellford , ON.
  • Provide on-site supervision, guidance, and evaluation of PSW students during their LTC placement.
  • Deliver clear, engaging instruction on clinical procedures, patient care protocols, and safety standards.
  • Assess student performance regularly, offering constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Ensure students demonstrate safe, ethical, and competent care aligned with NACC PSW curriculum outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison between the college, placement site, and students to maintain effective communication and resolve concerns promptly.
  • Conduct daily check-ins, skills supervision, and coaching to support student learning and confidence.
  • Complete required evaluations, attendance records, and progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through real-time guidance and mentorship.
  • Reinforce professional standards including infection control, resident safety, confidentiality, and ethical care.
  • Model best practices in personal care, communication, documentation, and resident-centered care.
  • Address performance issues or safety concerns and escalate promptly to the Program Supervisor.
  • Participate in orientation sessions and meetings as required by the college.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages professional development, teamwork, and respectful communication.

Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience, preferably in long-term care.
  • Experience supervising learners or staff in a clinical environment is strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid, criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening, and TB testing.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create a supportive learning environment and ensure student success while maintaining resident safety.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Clinical hours would typically range from 7.5–8 hours per day
  • Shift schedules may include mornings, or evenings depending on placement needs.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly or daily rate, based on qualifications and experience.
