What You'll Do

Are you an intermediate accountant ready to grow your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? If so, become part of our growing Audit or Tax team where your voice is heard and your growth is valued.

If your focus and area of passion is within Assurance.

  • Independently preparing working papers and financial statements for Review Engagements and Compilation Engagements
  • Completing moderately complex Review Engagements with little to no guidance
  • Independently preparing the more complex sections of an Audit Engagement, including AP/AR, confirmation of accounts receivable/payable and attendance at inventory counts
  • Independently preparing level 1-4 corporate tax returns
  • Identifying audit or accounting issues for discussion with the Senior Manager
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

If your focus and area of passion is within Enterprise.

  • All Compilation Engagement documents are to be issued to the client, including working papers, financial statements, planning documents, notes and schedules.
  • A compliance review of prepared corporate and personal tax returns
  • A compliance review of prepared income tax slips and filings, including T4's and T5's

You will prepare:

  • Tax plans and compliance-related reports
  • Client correspondence, including reports, discussion of technical issues and recommendations

You are expected to:

  • Promptly identify significant issues for discussion with the Manager and/or Partner
  • Ensure that all queries and outstanding points have been cleared satisfactorily
  • Critically review your work before submitting it to your manager
  • Prepare interim invoices, as required

What You Bring

  • University degree in Accounting and actively pursuing your
    CPA designation
  • 2+ years
    of experience in a public accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of
    GAAP, ASPE, ASNPO, IFRS, Canadian Auditing Standards, and Canadian Income Tax
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Office (Excel formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
    ,

    , and
    Adobe Acrobat
