Reporting to the Operations Director, the Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall management of the housekeeping department. He/she oversees supervisors and housekeeping staff, ensures the implementation of company cleanliness standards, and maintains daily operational efficiency (arrival/departure rooms, inspections, laundry, public areas, VIP). The Housekeeping Manager works closely with the Front Desk, Maintenance, and other departments to guarantee an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Oversee all daily operations of the housekeeping department (rooms, laundry, public areas, inventories).
- Ensure consistent adherence to cleanliness standards and internal procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public spaces.
- Coordinate with the Front Desk and Maintenance teams to ensure room readiness and prompt handling of requests.
- Analyze occupancy levels and adjust staffing and schedules accordingly.
Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and support housekeeping supervisors and staff.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff training.
- Manage employee performance, including evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions when required.
- Foster a positive, motivating, and professional work environment.
Administrative Duties
- Manage inventory of cleaning products and guest supplies, place orders, and ensure proper stock control.
- Oversee the department budget and optimize operational expenses.
- Maintain accurate departmental records (inventories, time sheets, reports).
- Supervise the Lost & Found process.
Guest Service
- Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by maintaining consistent service quality.
- Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce and uphold health and safety standards across the department.
- Implement and update necessary policies and procedures.
- Ensure ongoing staff training in safety protocols and cleaning standards.

equired qualifications and skills
:
- College degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or a related field.
- Significant experience (3–5 years) in housekeeping management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
- Excellent stress management and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with computer systems and hotel software (an asset).
