As a Technical Support Analyst, you will provide application support for the Clearing and Risk systems for ASX internal and external customers.

Your Team provides first and second level technical support on the systems within the Market Line of Business. This includes operation of ASX Clearing, Risk, Margining, Billing, and Reporting.

Your responsibilities

  • Provision of 2nd level support for Downstream & Risk systems to internal and external customers for Production and Business

  • Continuity environments and supporting the Non-Functional Testing & IWT.

  • The scope of the role also includes incident, problem, release and change management, and undertaking BAU work within the team

  • Maintenance of technical documentation required by the team for operational support

  • Participate in non-functional testing required by projects and software releases

  • Software installation and configuration of systems/environments that are supported within the team

  • The role will require weekend and after-hour installations, upgrades and migrations

  • Automation of routine tasks and enhance monitoring/alerting

  • Support workloads interacting with AWS (IAM, EC2,RDS,S3,CloudWatch)

Must have

  • 5+ years support of critical applications

  • Proven experience with incident/problem/change/release/service request workflows (ITIL), with excellent ticket hygiene and customer communication.

  • Methodical problem-solving skills such as root-cause analysis, post-issue follow-up, documentation and knowledge transfer

  • Excellent knowledge of data handling (MSSQL) including SQL performance tuning, indexing, query plans, T-SQL scripting, backups/restore.

  • Excellent knowledge and technical skills on MS Windows Servers (2016 – 2022)

  • Strong analytical mindset, documentation skills, and a continuous improvement approach.

  • Familiarity with AWS fundamentals and cloud operational practices

  • Experience conducting NFT (performance, load, failover) and DR exercises; comfortable with on-call rotations and after-hours change windows.

  • Programming and scripting skills with PowerShell, Perl or Python

Nice to have

  • Technical experience in distributed transactions, high availability, performance-critical systems

  • Experience with Cloud Jira, Confluence and SharePoint.

  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networks to diagnose connectivity issues

  • Experience with DevOps pipelines - Gitlab

  • Exposure to the standards, practices and procedures of the financial industry

  • Securities industry experience such as understanding of exchange-traded futures and options, derivatives markets, and the

  • business processes related to clearing of member trades
