Position Summary/Schedule

LCS is looking for a School Block Supervisor. The incumbent of this role is responsible for working in collaboration with the Teacher on Duty and completing evening and weekend attendance. The School Block Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining a secure environment during non-academic hours, supporting student well-being, and communicating effectively with residential and teaching staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize and follow School attendance procedures and systems
  • Follow School safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Maintain professionalism, build rapport with students and have a calm and composed presence during challenging situations
  • Ensure clear and timely communication with the teacher on duty regarding student activity and end of day reporting
  • Monitor student behaviour and intervene when necessary
  • Maintain security of keys and facilities

Experience/Skills/Certifications Required:

  • Experience working with adolescents or in an educational setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with Google Suite
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively during conflict or in emergency situations
  • First Aid/CPR is an asset
  • Previous supervisory and monitoring experience with youth is preferred
  • Experience working in an Independent Boarding School is not required, but is a definite asset
  • Familiarity working with student attendance systems is preferred

This is a part-time contract position. Hours are not guaranteed and shifts may be scheduled any time within the following hours:

Monday-Friday 4:00pm-10:00pm

Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm

Sunday 1:00pm-8:00pm
