Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Physics and Calculus Instructor to teach AP Physics (1, 2, and/or C) and AP Calculus (AB/BC) courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both subjects, experience in preparing students for AP examinations, and the ability to inspire high school learners to develop a deep conceptual understanding of physics and calculus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons aligned with AP Physics and AP Calculus curricula.
  • Design and implement structured lesson plans, problem sets, and experiments that promote conceptual understanding and analytical thinking.
  • Prepare students for AP exams through rigorous practice, mock tests, and feedback.
  • Integrate real-world examples and interdisciplinary applications of physics and calculus (e.g., engineering, robotics, data science).
  • Provide regular progress feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching AP Physics and/or AP Calculus at the high school or college level.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Deep understanding of the College Board AP curriculum and exam expectations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying skill levels.
  • (Preferred) Ontario teaching certification or equivalent credentials.
  • (Preferred) Experience with STEM-based enrichment programs or coaching competition teams (e.g., Science Fair, PhysicsBowl, Math Contests).

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $22.00-$33.64 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
