About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support a mission-critical facility. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure, maintaining hardware, troubleshooting issues, and supporting projects across the facility.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in critical operations environments such as utilities, industrial sites, hospitals, or high-performance computing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain all network systems, ensuring high reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage and maintain network hardware including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and implement improvements.
- Ensure robust network security and compliance.
- Collaborate with external service providers for specialized support.
- Lead network-related projects including upgrades, migrations, and maintenance.
- Assist with infrastructure planning and development.
- Document procedures and workflows for operational consistency.
- Provide on-call network support for emergencies.
- Support system installation and configuration during facility upgrades or expansion.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and responsible operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in network engineering or infrastructure support.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team is a plus.
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA A+ or equivalent.
- Experience with Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch) or Cisco (Nexus, Firepower) preferred.
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, fiber optics, and PDUs.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
- Prior experience in mission-critical or high-availability environments is highly valued.
