Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the construction process by providing accurate cost estimates for projects, enabling effective budgeting and resource allocation. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of construction processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in industry-standard estimating software and possess a keen eye for detail.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates.
  • Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for efficient estimating processes.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines as part of the estimating process.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, revisions, and related documentation.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
  • Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work is crucial.
  • A background in construction or engineering is a plus.
