In-House Estimator Position for Reputable Commercial & Industrial Painting Company

General Overview:

You are responsible for keeping in good contact with our current and prospective customers. As an estimator, you hold a strong position to influence not only their satisfaction, but the fellow employees you will be working with. This position requires tact and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties:

General and Administrative:

  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in company manuals.
  • Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the General Manager, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales objectives and customer objectives are met.

Customer Service:

  • Process customer orders in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Organize schedule and workflow to meet customer deadlines.
  • Prepare estimates for all jobs based on customer specifications and General Manager.
  • Price all production work using proven industry standards. Estimate nonstandard work in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Effectively present and discuss the products and services of the company.
  • Manage telephone calls professionally, efficiently and with good communication skills.
  • Attend to customer complaints and concerns immediately and facilitate satisfactory resolution.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Support customer sales through service, education, and effective problem solving. Be able to involve appropriate team members as needed.
  • Support strategic sales plan and marketing strategies outlined by the General Manager and facilitate joint marketing calls where applicable. Assist in the promotion of cost-effective and customer-oriented solutions.

Fiscal Responsibility:

  • Maintain pricing.
  • Develop knowledge of best suppliers and competitive prices and stay abreast of pricing changes.
  • Coordinate with management on jobs and maintain company and industry-specific processes.
  • Develop knowledge by researching and recommending cost saving potential to management.

Benefits:

  • 8-hour daytime shifts (subject to change as certain jobs require).
  • Guaranteed base salary

Must Have:

  • Own vehicle.
  • Be physically located in Ontario
  • COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL PAINTING EXPERIENCE (5+ years experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, methods.
  • Experience in sales or customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to deal with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow staff members.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, possessing a sales aptitude.
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF formats.
  • Must be hard working, a self-starter, and a problem solver.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional phone and customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Can take feedback and continually be looking to improve.
