About the Role: Project Coordinator
LJ Welding Automation is seeking an independent and highly organized project coordinator to join our operations team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of custom projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, resources, and change control are effectively managed and communicated across departments.
This position is ideal for an experienced coordinator who is comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, takes ownership of project details, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently coordinate production runs and custom project resource scheduling, including shop capacity, materials, and labour requirements
- Own the development and maintenance of project schedules, labour estimates, and material cost documentation
- Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, identifying variances and taking corrective action within defined authority
- Proactively identify risks or issues impacting scope, cost, or delivery and implement solutions, escalating when required
- Serve as the primary coordination point between Sales, Accounting, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Production
- Lead project meetings, set agendas, track action items, and drive accountability
- Manage change orders from initiation through approval and implementation, ensuring impacts are clearly documented and communicated
- Prepare and maintain detailed project cost reports, including budget-to-actual tracking and forecasting
- Partner with Accounting to track expenditures and support financial reviews
- Support continuous improvement by enhancing project coordination processes and standardized workflows
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination or a related operations/administrative role
- Experience coordinating projects independently in a custom project, manufacturing, or operations-driven environment
- ERP experience required (Epicor experience is an asset)
- Strong understanding of schedules, budgets, and change control processes
- Proficiency with project management and reporting tools
