Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated CPA Articling Student to join our team. This role provides comprehensive exposure to the core areas of public practice—bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax preparation, and assurance work—while supporting the successful candidate's progression through the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) and practical experience requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger records for client accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, financial statements, and working papers.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns (T1 & T2).
  • Support GST/HST and payroll filings.
  • Participate in year-end review and compilation engagements under supervision.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain required documentation and provide support.
  • Work collaboratively within the firm to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Contribute to the implementation of efficient accounting and internal control systems.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a four-year undergraduate degree from a Canadian university (required).
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) (required).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax concepts.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client files simultaneously.
