Overview / Responsibilities
Bolen Engineering Inc. is seeking a Structural Drafting Technologist to join our team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from within Western Canada. Reporting to our Senior Structural Engineer, your primary responsibility will be drawing preparation for a variety of structural engineering projects. Additional duties may include field reviews, report preparation, plan checking, and/or calculations.
This position requires the ability to work remotely and therefore necessitates consistent and reliable internet access. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, manage their time effectively, and complete assigned tasks on schedule while also demonstrating the ability to take direction from senior staff. Travel for site visits and other project-related needs is a requirement for this role; therefore, candidates must own their own vehicle and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Qualifications
- 2-year Post-Secondary diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent.
- Must have consistent and reliable internet access to facilitate remote work.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrable experience with Autodesk Revit is required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural plans, structural engineering designs, and field notes.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work remotely from within Western Canada and maintain a productive work environment.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
- Ability to take and follow direction from senior staff.
- Must own a vehicle and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license for travel requirements.
- The most important qualifications for this position are a willingness to learn and take direction.
