Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled, licensed Electrician with extensive PLC experience and advanced troubleshooting expertise to maintain, repair, and enhance the electrical and control systems of our amusement devices. This role goes beyond routine maintenance—you will play an active part in identifying opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, and reliability enhancements while ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards (ASTM F24, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements).

Duties:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ride electrical and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, sensors, safety circuits, and networking.
  • Expertly troubleshoot complex PLC and control system faults using ladder logic, function blocks, and diagnostic tools to minimize ride downtime.
  • Program, modify, and debug PLC code (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms) for ride enhancements and fault resolution.
  • Lead or actively contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing system reliability, reducing failures, and optimizing ride performance.
  • Design and implement electrical/control upgrades, retrofits, and new installations during major overhauls or ride relocations.
  • Read and interpret detailed electrical schematics, PLC programs, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintain accurate records per ASTM and TSSA industry standards.
  • Collaborate with mechanics, engineers, and operations teams on cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Electrician License (Journeyman /Master) required
  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial electrical experience with strong emphasis on PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with major PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley
  • ControlLogix/CompactLogix, Siemens S7, etc.) in automated or heavy machinery environments.
  • Proven amusement ride experience highly preferred (roller coasters, motion bases, animated systems, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or significantly contribute to system improvements, upgrades, or reliability projects.
  • Proficiency in VFDs, servo systems, industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profibus), and safety PLCs.
  • Additional certifications an asset:ADM-AR, NAARSO Level II/III, AIMS Advanced Maintenance,
  • Rockwell Automation training, fall protection, confined space, aerial lift.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, climbing structures, and working in demanding environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime during peak seasons.

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
