As a Senior Energy Marketing Advisor reporting to the Sales Manager, Business Sales, you will play a critical role in driving ATCO Energy's growth in the commercial and industrial sectors. Using a consultative approach, this position combines strategic sales and marketing expertise with deep knowledge of Alberta's energy landscape to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs and enhance profitability.

On a daily basis, you'll be responsible for...

Strategic Marketing & Business Development

  • Design and execute marketing strategies to attain assigned sales targets and drive ATCO Energy's growth objectives.

  • Identify emerging market trends and develop plans to capture new opportunities.

  • Support pricing and product positioning strategies through the use of market intelligence.

    Client Relationship Management 

  • Act as brand ambassador for ATCO, and be known as a trusted advisor for commercial and industrial clients who share our values.

  • Build long-term relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Negotiate complex energy contracts and manage high-value transactions within assigned territory and segments.

  • Apply a consultative sales methodology to uncover client challenges and align ATCO Energy solutions with their business objectives.

  • Facilitate strategic discussions with clients to identify opportunities for efficiency, effective cost management, and sustainability.

  • Share important updates/information to help clients proactively manage their commercial energy needs 

Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor Alberta's energy market, regulatory changes, and competitor activities and share insights with leadership and the sales team.

  • Prepare forecasts, performance reports, and executive presentations.

  • Analyze customer usage patterns and recommend tailored solutions. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with sales, operations, and regulatory teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Provide insights to support product development and innovation initiatives. 

  • Act as mentor and leader to assist in the professional growth within the ATCO Energy team

  • Represent ATCO Energy at special events as required

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in energy marketing, account management, or commercial sales.

  • Strong understanding of Alberta's energy market, commodity pricing, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven ability to develop strategic sales and marketing plans and manage high-value accounts.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
