The Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe and accessible programs for the collection and disposal of unwanted medications and used medical sharps on behalf of its members. HPSA operates return programs that make it easy and safe for consumers to return these items for proper disposal. We are seeking a Full-Time Manager, Stewardship Programs (West) to join our hybrid team and help oversee the delivery and expansion of these important programs.

The Manager, Stewardship Programs (West) will manage the development and launch of a new Medical Sharps program in British Columbia, as well as the ongoing management of HPSA's established Medications Return Program in British Columbia and the Medications and Medical Sharps Programs in Manitoba and Ontario, with potential expansion into future regulated provinces and territories. HPSA is a matrixed organization, and the Manager will work closely with other functions, including Operations, Finance, and Communications.
This position reports to the Director, Stewardship Programs (West). The position is based in the British Columbia, preferably in Metro Vancouver.
DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Compliance/Reporting
· Manage, develop and/or secure the renewal of existing and approval of new Medication Return Program and/or Sharp Collection Program plans.
·Draft provincial annual reports and ensure compliance with assigned provincial targets and regulatory requirements.
Programs Operations
· Manage service providers in collaboration with the Manager, Operations
· Oversee onboarding, support, and compliance of collection locations with HPSA guidelines, and provide direction to the Program Associates responsible for these activities.
· Lead the development and implement the continuous improvement strategies for program delivery
· Contribute to annual budget planning and operational assumptions.
Communication
·Manage the development of communications plans and provincial market strategies, with a focus on awareness and program visibility and ensure that initiatives align with program priorities, regulatory requirements, and commitments
·Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including industry associations, pharmacy banners, provincial governments, agencies, First Nations and Indigenous communities, stewardship groups, and provincial service providers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
. Minimum 3-5 years experience program and people management experience required
· Experience in Financial Management (P&L)
· Exceptional problem-solving skills and capacity to make decision
· Strong collaborator with excellent verbal and written communications skills in both official languages (clear, concise, technical, professional).
· Prior experience in regulatory affairs is a strong asset (government engagement and regulatory texts interpretation)
·Prior experience in Producer Responsibility Organization or Industry Association is an asse t
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCES/SKILLS
· Versed with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM
· Ability to analyze data and develop recommendation
· Comfortable working within matrixed organizations
· Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and confident public speaker.
· Strong relationship building and ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members.
· Ability to manage juggle multiple priorities and maintain operational momentum.
· Ability to travel from occasionally
· Experience working with First Nations and Indigenous communities is an asset
