Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology and patient care, with prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings preferred. Duties

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and organizing medication supplies
  • Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
  • Maintain accurate records of medication transactions and patient information in compliance with privacy regulations
  • Support medication administration processes as needed, including labeling and packaging prescriptions
  • Ensure the pharmacy area remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate effective medication management and patient support

Skills

  • Prior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications and maintaining records
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Patient care skills to assist diverse populations effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
